The Brazilian Secretariat of Foreign Trade (“SECEX”) initiated a new anti-dumping investigation regarding the imports of liquid caustic soda from United States of America, by SECEX Notice No.7. The product is commonly classified under item 2815.12.00 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature – NCM (HS based). The petitioners are the companies Unipar Indupa do Brasil S.A and Unipar Carbocloro S.A.
For purposes of the initiation, the Brazilian authority calculated the dumping margin as it follows:
The authorities have not disclosed the deadline for submitting the foreign producer/exporter questionnaire yet, which we estimate should be by March 31, 2021. In the same sense, we estimate that the deadline for submitting the importer questionnaire should be by April 14, 2021.
Other parties interested in the investigation shall file a request for qualification in the proceeding by March 10, 2021.
